Is Orlando AC Registry really free to use?

Yes. Searching the directory, browsing contractor profiles, reading reviews, and submitting a quote request are completely free for homeowners.

How do you choose which HVAC companies to list?

We research each company’s licensing, service area, years in business, and customer reviews before adding them to the directory. We prioritize independent, locally-owned contractors over large national chains.

What happens after I submit a quote request?

Your request is sent directly to the HVAC company or companies best matched to your location and issue, unless you specify a company that you have selected from our list, in which case it is sent to them. They’ll typically contact you within a few hours to schedule a visit or provide an initial estimate.

Will my information be sold to multiple companies?

No, that’s our promise to you. Unlike national lead-generation sites, we don’t auction your information to five or six competing companies at once. You choose who to contact, or your request goes to the specific company you select.

How is this different from Angi or HomeAdvisor?

Those platforms charge contractors per lead regardless of whether the job closes, which drives up costs that often get passed to homeowners. We focus on a smaller, vetted list of independent local companies rather than mass lead distribution.

Do you cover all of Central Florida?

We are always expanding and adding more companies to the registry when we find any that we trust. We currently have location pages for Orlando, Kissimmee/, Sanford, and Winter Garden and plan to add more soon. We also have more locations listed other than that, which can be see in the companies listed location tags.

Is there a way to leave feedback on companies in the directory?

General AC questions

How often should I service my AC system in Florida?

Florida’s heat and humidity put more strain on AC systems than in most states, so most manufacturers and technicians recommend professional maintenance twice a year, typically in spring and fall.

What are the signs my AC needs repair?

Common warning signs include warm air blowing from vents, unusual noises, higher than normal electric bills, water pooling near the unit, and the system cycling on and off frequently. See our full breakdown of AC warning signs.

How long does a typical AC unit last in Florida?

Due to constant heat and humidity, AC units in Florida often last slightly less than the national average, with most central AC systems lasting 10 to 15 years compared to 15 to 20 years in cooler climates.

Should I repair or replace my AC unit?

As a general rule, if a repair costs more than 50% of a new system’s price, or your unit is over 10 years old, replacement is usually the more cost-effective long-term choice.

What size AC unit do I need for my home?

AC sizing depends on square footage, ceiling height, insulation quality, and window exposure, which is why a proper load calculation from a licensed contractor is more reliable than a generic size chart.

How can I lower my AC bill in the summer?

Setting your thermostat a few degrees higher when away, sealing air leaks, changing air filters monthly, and scheduling regular maintenance are the most effective ways to reduce cooling costs.

Trust & Verification

Are the HVAC companies on this site licensed and insured?

We include reviews that we get from user of our directory, and we recommend cross-checking a company’s rating on Google before scheduling service.

How do I know if a listed company has good reviews?

We list any reviews that we have of the company through our directory as well as on any premium listings we are able to integrate reviews from other sites. However we always recommend double checking reviews for comfort when actually choosing an AC company.

What should I look for when choosing an HVAC company?

Look for a valid Florida contractor license, proof of insurance, several years of local experience, and consistent positive reviews, and be cautious of any company unwilling to provide written estimates. Or let us do all that for you, it’s our job after all.

Do you guarantee the work of listed contractors?

We do not perform or warranty HVAC work ourselves, as we are a directory connecting homeowners with independent licensed contractors who are responsible for their own work and warranties. We are not directly responsible for them and we take efforts to receive any feedback that you may have about a company you used

About the Directory

Who runs the directory?

My name is Tyler Krishnan and I am a UCF student who has lived in Central Florida my whole life. I have always seen the frustration my parents had when using HVAC companies, even before I was old enough to understand exactly what was happening, and I saw this as a chance to patch a hole in the industry.
